Story
Update 6th October: Mission completed. We did indeed sleep out for Action For Children. 40 of us in a field in Reading. We avoided the rain but it was damned cold. The several beers we had seemed to do the trick though.Estimated combined donations of £16,000 which is excellent. Thank you to all our donors who helped us pull in over £2200 including a large promised donation from EMC. Photographs will be forthcoming from the organisers. D & D

Thanks for visiting our fundraising page. David 'Gingie' Gingell and David 'Nobby' Northmore have now joined forces to raise money for AFC. Despite the fact the former works for EMC and the latter for HP they will avoid any discussions on storage and concentrate on the matter in hand - a few cans of Tennants lager and thoughts about being homeless. So we will be sleeping rough in Reading on the 3rd October to raise money for the AFC (formerly National Children's Home). It is organised by a group of IT professionals - hence the geeky name of Byte Night. The objective is two fold - firstly for around 300 of us over five locations to experience what it is really like to sleep rough for just one night and really be truely grateful for our privileged lives, and secondly for you to give the NCH some money via me so they can carry on their good work in keeping kids and young adults from this way of life. They promise not to rehabilitate them as IT professionals either.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: NCH gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please sponsor us now!
