Story

As some of you will know I am doing my first Ironman on June 28th in Nice, France.  As it is unlikely that I will do another one for a couple of years I thought  it would be nice to try and raise some cash for my efforts.

After nine months of training 6 days a week and not drinking (!) I hope you will think it is worth sponsoring me for.

For those who don't know what an ironman is, it consists of the following:

Swim 3.8km (2.5 miles) followed by
Cycle 180km (112 miles) followed by
Run 42.2km (26.2 miles)

I am hoping to do this in approximately 14 hours or less (less hopefully!!!) And  if successful I am then going to eat my weight in pizza, have a glass of champagne followed by a nice long sleep.

Again, as most of you know I am passionate about getting as many people onto two wheels as possible, and so have chosen a local charity that does some really good work in providing people with various types of disabilities the skills and confidence to cycle.

Wheels for Wellbeing encourages and supports disabled people to cycle. We run regular cycle sessions using a wide range of 2,3 and 4 wheeled cycles and provide 1-1 lessons for people who want to learn to ride a bicycle or improve their skills so they can ride on the road with confidence.
