Story

I SURVIVED.

I made it the whole way round the 10k with only a little bit of pain in the front of my shins at the first hike up the malone road but after getting through that I ploughed on through.  Thanks to Laura and her dad (who kept my spirits up and hung back to walk at my pace) we made it right to the end. I didn't even feel tired after it all.  Thank you so much to all who have sponsored me so far but PLEASE KEEP SPONSORING if you haven't already.  The page will stay active until December so please donate some cash if you can.  Pay day has just been and gone so once the mortgate/rent payment has been taken and the heating oil has been paid off, send those few remaining copper coins in my direction.  It's all for a good cause people.  Dig deep remember.

Thank you thank you thank you for all the funds and words of encouragement.  I was close to giving up the few days before and thought I was coming down with a cold but those last minute donations gave me the boost I needed to turn up eager and willing.  Richard and I were actually the first two people to arrive!!!  We both made it round in a decent time and when we stopped off for a break, everyone was busting to get going again and not stop for long.

Bring on round two, thats what I say.  But I also say, give me some time to recover and get some more exercise kicked into touch before we go on another hike!!!

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

Who in their right mind would have ever thought that Dawn Minnis was going to do a 10K walk.  I mean seriously.  I haven't done a sponsored walk since P7 round the 40-acre in Comber.

Either way I have decided that A) I'm getting married next year and need to do something to increase my health levels and make sure I still fit my fabulous dress and B) It's good to give to charity and this is a wonderful worthwhile cause and it's local too.  Give me what you can please, even a few pence is better than nothing.  And remember to use Gift Aid if you're a Tax Payer cos I'll need all the available cash I can get.

I might do the walk dressed like this if I get enough sponsorship -alternatively I'll threaten you that I WILL do the walk like this UNLESS I get enough sponsorship.  It's your choice.  Answers on a postcard (with cheques attached please).

Dig deep people.  GIVE GIVE GIVE

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Shine A Light gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

So please sponsor me now!
