Story

I've now done lots of running for Adam. Many thanks to everyone who has donated so far for their generosity, which has been staggering. If you haven't already done so, it's not too late to donate, so please give generously.
My friends, Nick and Alison, have a little boy. Adam is 7 years old, lives in Epsom, and likes Ben 10 and West Bromwich Albion. Adam also has a rare and aggressive form of cancer known as High Risk Neuroblastoma (MYCN amplified).

Despite 20 months of continuous treatment under the most expert care the UK can offer, Adam's scans continue to show widespread bone and bone marrow disease.
Adam is now recovering from High-Dose Chemotherapy with Blood Stem Cell Transplant at the Royal Marsden Hospital in Sutton. Now this is complete there is little more the UK can offer Adam. In particular, he does not qualify for any form of immunotherapy in his home country. His only option is to look elsewhere for new trials and treatments, in particular to America and Germany, to continue the fight.
Once he move outside the realms of the NHS his family will be liable for all treatment costs. Adam's failure to respond to frontline therapy in the UK means there is no definite plan that can now put him on the path to a cure from this disease. It also means the potential costs are open-ended. Any money left after Adam's treatment has been funded will fund the treatment of other children with Neurobalstoma, and research to find a cure for this cruel disease.
I've come out of running retirement to run the Corsham 10k in April (completed in 57m 30s), the Great South Run (completed in 1h 24m 06s) in October, and the Bath Half Marathon in March (completed in 1h 48m 07s). That's 3 races for the price of 1. A never to be repeated 29 mile+ bargain.
