Story
As many of you may know, in loving memory of my Dad, I am going to be trekking up Mount Kenya in August this year.
The trek is being organised through a charity called Sewa International and all funds raised will be used to help children in Africa.
My Dad grew up in a town called Nakuru, which is not far from Mount Kenya and Dad often told us stories of how amazing the moutain was and what it was like growing up there. So, when this opportunity came up I grabbed it!
We will visit the projects currently going on in Nakuru and I am hoping to find the area that my Dad grew up in. I'll be taking lots of pictures as I know lots of you want to see want to see what it all looks like now!
The trek will take me 4985m up to Mount Kenya and will take us 5 days to complete and on the way we will have to camp! I've never been camping before! It will take us through some challenging terrain and some beautiful views although I've been warned its not easy and the altitude will make it extremely difficult and may cause sickness! However, it will be worth it and I'm sure that Dad would be proud - even though he may think I'm a bit mad!
It would really mean a lot to me, Sewa International and all the people that charity will help if you could donate something to help this worthwhile cause. And if you know of anyone that would like to sponsor me then please pass on this link to them.
