Hello everyone!

Well I've done it!  I completed my million metres in 44 rowing days, so beating my target by 6 days!  This means my rowing average has been 22,727 metres per session.  It's been a hard challenge, but well worth it.

I just want to say a huge 'thank you' to everyone who has donated to my page, and made it possible for me to raise money for the hospice.   All the little messages of support were great inspiration too, so thank you again.  My page will remain open until 4th June and to date your generosity has raised £200.

I'm now moving onto training for the Moonwalk in Edinburgh on June 20th - it's a power walk done over the marathon distance through the night in aid of breast cancer.  It will make a nice change getting off the rower and walking!!!!

I have decided to row a million metres for Severn Hospice in memory of my  very special mother, Ingrid, who sadly passed away at the hospice.  I began my challenge on 24/02/09, the eve of what would have been my mother's birthday, and as of today, 23/04/09 I have rowed 759,000 metres on the concept 2 indoor rower.  Due to family and college commitments I have not always been able to row consecutive days, and have so far done this distance in 34 days rowed, which averages 22,000 metres per rowing day.  My aim is to now complete this in no more than 50 rowing days, and I am hoping to complete this by 9th May at the very latest, having upped my daily rate to 27,000 metres.

I realise times are hard for everyone at the moment but the hospice makes such a difference to the lives of not only the patient but also their family and friends, by providing such high quality love and care.  I can never thank them enough for what they did for my mother.    I would therefore be very grateful for any donations you wish to make, as every penny makes such a huge difference to this very worthy charity.
