Story
**Just a quick update as we come to a close on completing many of our events this year, they have all been incredibly tough but have been for a great cause, so very worth it. A huge thank you to everybody who has donated and to those who have taken part in the events, we couldn't have done it without you all. For those still wanting to donate (or take part) we will be organising some new events this year, so watch this space**
On December 23rd 2008 Jim Thompson finally ended his 11 year battle with alzheimer's. Alzheimer's is a disease which affects not only the memory but also robs you of your personality, intellect and dignity.
This disease took a once confident, assured and creative man and changed him into one who could not recognise his friends and family, and who spent the last 5 years of his life unable to walk, talk or eat. It is watching this suffering that has spurred us on to set and raise the ambitious target of £10,000. We hope to do this through a series of initiatives and also ask that you sponsor us generously for some of the events which we will be partaking in throughout 2009/10.
The Yorkshire Three Peaks - completed April 09! (Rachel Holt, Gemma Laybourn, Jon Taylor, Paul Thompson, Chris Thompson, Faye Thompson)
The London Marathon - completed April 09! (Kate Scholes)
The Blaydon Races - completed June 09! (Paul Thompson)
The National 3 Peaks - completed August 09 (Thompsons, Gemma Laybourn, James Earl, Jon Taylor, Rachel Holt)
Coast to Coast bike ride from Whitehaven to Sunderland - 140 miles - TBC.

There are lots of us involved in raising money, some people wil be taking part in one or two of the activities whilst others in considerably more...all are massive achievements for a great cause so please give generously.
We will continue to update this page as new events come up and will also be organising several fundraising events throughout the year, so please get involved in these.
Thank you for visiting the page and we really hope that you can help us to help current and future alzheimer's sufferers.
And now for the admin...
