Story
Rightio one and all - it's that time of year again when people climb mountains, run marathons and sit in baths of beans to raise money for worthwhile charities. We (Alex Hunter, Ed Burnett, Penny Smith, Sophie Crichton, Ben Dudmish, Rachel Perella, Mark Sheldon, Laura Keltie and Mr. & Mrs Evans!) have decided to raise awareness, money and a few eyebrows by rowing a dragon boat at this years' Marlow Regatta on Sunday 15th of June 2008. I know it's not scaling Everest or playing 72 holes of golf in a pair of Superman pants, but we would really appreciate a few quid towards an incredibly worthwhile cause - the Sabre Charitable Trust. We have all got together and after 3 to 4 hours of calculations worked out that if 40 friends each all donate £5 we will hit our target of £2000 - BUT if some of you feel more generous...then who are we to stop you?
What do you get for your money? Not only will you receive an instant philanthropic kick after you read who you are giving to, but also you will receive photos of the team on the day - with the added promise that Alex will pose in a clinging wet white t-shirt and his faithful Superman grundies if we reach our target of 2 grand.
The Sabre Charitable Trust is a small charity working at minimal cost to implement whole school improvement programmes in Ghana, their work is all about making school a better place for kids. Your donation will help to build schools, train teachers, provide learning materials, put on extra-curricular activities like sports events, music and drama, and provide basic healthcare at school.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: The Sabre Charitable Trust will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
