Story

Paris to Geneva 22 - 27 June - 325 miles Diolch am ymweld a'r wefan ac am eich cefnogaeth. Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to donate: Parkinson's Disease Society will receive your money electronically and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in Gift Aid will be added to your donation at no cost to you. Please donate generously. The cycling challenge will take me east from Paris through the famous vineyard regions of Champagne and Burgundy. Skirting Dijon the plan is to reach the Roman Spa town of Lons-le-Saunier, at the foot of the Jura on the fourth saddle sore day and here's where the real challenge begins!. Ahead on the 5th day is the hairpin bends of the Col de la Faucille (1232m) - the gateway to Switzerland and the toughest part of the challenge. This climb in the beautiful Jura Mountains is a regular feature of the Tour de France. I have covered all my cost for travel and accommodation and all your contributions go directly to the Parkinson's Disease Society. My father, suffered greatly in his later years from this terrible disease and my sister Sian is also coping brilliantly with having the condition also. I have all the motivation one would ever need to conquer the Alps on my bike. It will take 6 months of training and if I have any chance of crossing the Alps I will have to loose a few bolders of body weight. With your kind support I can do it. Diolch o galon. Emyr

Anyone can get Parkinson’s. It gets worse over time and there’s no cure. Yet. Funding research into the most promising treatments, we’re getting closer to a cure. Until then, we're improving life for people with Parkinson’s, and the people in their lives. Together we'll find a cure.
