Story
Thank you so much for visiting our site! We are running the Wilmslow half marathon on 30th March 2008 in aid of the Imagine appeal – the charity of the Alder Hey specialist children’s hospital in Liverpool.
The hospital is a very special place for all of us as it has looked after and cared for one of the youngest members of our family over the last year and a half. Eddie was only 9 when he was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumour and he is now receiving regular treatment at the hospital to aid his recovery. We know that by running we will raise funds to help the work the hospital does in caring for thousands of other children, just like Eddie, in the future. Completing the 13 miles will not be easy for any of us but together we will be spurred on in the knowledge that we are out there making a difference in our own small way.
The motto for the imagine appeal is ‘living for today, giving for tomorrow’ so please give generously and in doing so you will have helped to improve the lives of many children.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor us: Alder Hey Imagine Appeal will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
Many thanks for your support.
