Every year Merlin's Magic Wand makes it possible for thousands of seriously ill, disabled and disadvantaged children to enjoy a memorable day out at a Merlin attraction. These trips are made possible by the provision of attraction tickets (which come directly from Merlin at no cost to the Charity) and travel grants which are provided thanks to Merlin's Magic Wand’s fundraising.

Since 2008 we have helped over 170,000 children and their families to enjoy a day out and make precious happy memories.

Taking the Magic to the Children Projects

Some children, due to the nature of their illness or disability, are physically unable to visit Merlin attractions. This is why we invest in Taking the Magic to the Children.

Taking the Magic to the Children is a local outreach project designed to help attractions to build positive, long term relationships within their communities.

We want to ensure that local children who are prevented from visiting our attractions due to severe illness, physical disability or other exceptional circumstances still have the opportunity to experience the unique magic of Merlin.

So far we have delivered:

• A Fantastical Castle play area in CHASE Hospice in Guildford
• A LEGOLAND play area at Kolding Sygehus Children’s Hospital in Billund, Denmark
• A LEGOLAND themed Holiday cottage at the Sunshine Foundation in Florida
• A unique Merlin themed multi-sensory room at the Evelina Children’s hospital in London
• An Alton Towers Resort themed playroom and teenage relaxation room at University Hospital in North Staffordshire

We have also now just committed to 2 new 'Taking the Magic to the Children' projects in Australia.

Merlin Entertainments supports Merlin's Magic Wand by fundraising, hosting visits, raising awareness and identifying children that can benefit from our support. We are also on the look out for a taking the magic to the children project in our local area.
