When Raphael suggested we take part in a long-distance walk to raise money for Oxfam this summer, I signed up for it quickly (before realising it would be on my first wedding anniversary!), thinking how hard can walking be? 

When I read more about this 100km-under-30-hours challenge, set up by the legendary Nepalese Gurkhas and called Trailwalker UK (http://www.oxfam.org.uk/trailwalker), I thought there might be more into it than I had initially imagined.

After our first few walks in the Ridgeway and the boggy South Wales, I realised that in order to get a chance to see the finishing line in Brighton, we will need not only some serious training, but also as much support as possible!

We are raising money for Oxfam UK, an organisation providing humanitarian assistance and long term support to the most in need throughout the world (http://www.oxfam.org.uk/). Their help to the 8 million people affected by the recent earthquakes in Nepal has been extraordinary, but further funds are required in order to continue this vital work.
