NEXT EVENT: ** 10km Manchester Midnight Walk - Friday 20th June 2014 **
A bit about us, our mum and St. Ann's Hospice
In April 2004, our mum was diagnosed with cancer and told without any treatment she had 3 months to live. I was 17 at the time, studying for my A-Levels and my sister, Lucy, was in her 1st year at Sheffield University.
Everything happened so fast and it felt like we were just being passed from department to department and hospital to hospital with no answers , until a nice young Doctor "Dr Paul" managed to get my mum transferred to Wythenshawe Hospital and the ajoining Neil Cliffe Centre. It was here that we finally felt my mum was not one of many, but a person of value who needed to be cared for and whose life was a priority.
Sadly, in August, my mum passed away and my family were devastated, 10 years later and she is still incredibly missed by us all.
The Neil Cliffe Centre is part of St. Ann's Hospice, an independent charity that helds support over 3,000 people every year. They need to raise £16,000 every single day (£8.75 million a year) from public donations so that they can continue to support people like my mum and family.
We have reached our £16,000 target but this is only a small contribution the cost of running the 3 hospice sites so please help us support St. Ann's Hospice so they can continue offering their vital services to familites across Manchester.
Your support is greatly needs and very much appreciated - please help us by offering donations, fundraising ideas and raising awareness of this amazing charity - anything you can offer is very welcome!
Every little helps! Thank you!
Liz & Lucy xx
p.s. donating through this site is simple and totally secure. St. Ann's Hospice will receive your money electronically and for you taxpayers out there, please remember to gift aid your donation so 28% extra will go to the charity from the government!
