Story

This year I am taking on two of the biggest challenges France has to throw at me!

One down - one to go!

On Sunday, 5th April I ran 26.2 miles in the Paris Marathon along with 31,373 other competitors; finishing 7,392nd in a personal best time of 3 hours 38 minutes and 3 seconds. 55 minutes faster than my only previous marathon in 2005 which I was delighted with.

Next up, on Monday, 20th July, I will be cycling with 8,000 others in the Etape du Tour, a ride which gives amateurs the opportunity to ride a stage of the Tour de France the day before the professionals. This year the ride travels 172km from Montelimar to the summit of the legendary Mont Ventoux in Provence, finishing at a height of 1,912 metres!

I am raising money for the Get Kids Going charity and all funds I raise for both events will be going to them. The charity gives disabled children and young people the opportunity of participating in sport by providing specially built wheelchairs so they can take part in many activities.

Any donation, no matter how small, will be greatly appreciated. I have already exceeded my target and am hugely grateful to everyone who has sponsored me.

Thanks for your support!

Elliot.
