Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

Ellis's big thank you is all about saying Thanks to the Birmingham childrens Hospital, ICU and cardiac units.

It’s time to pass the Baton to Ellis, as he goes about taking on the world in order to thank those who saved his life.

Over the years on this page as Ellis Big Thank You I’ve climbed Kilimanjaro, Ran the London Marathon, organised Charity Balls for 350 guests, the list grows, but now it’s Ellis turn…

It was discovered he had a rare congenital heart defect, Infracardiac TAPVD. Without the vigilance of our home visit mid wife, Marie Maguire and the Specialist Care at Birmingham Childrens hospital, Ellis would not have survived. This condition is very rare 1 in 20 million, and is extremely hard to diagnose. However, after Emergency Open heart surgery and the aftercare as an outpatient, which he’ll always be, he is full of health and life!

Now age 11 it’s Ellis turn. His Big Thank you challenge  starts on Thursday July 28th with the National 3 Peaks Challenge. Ellis and I will attempt to climb the 3 highest mountains back to back non stop all within 24 hrs. Ben Nevis in Scotland, Scafell Pike in England & Snowdon in Wales. Lets goooo 💪🏻🗻

About the charity

It's bewildering and unsettling for anyone going into hospital but especially for children and that is why we are a fundraising hospital. We raise funds to enhance the experience of our patients by providing state of the art medical equipment and facilities and creating a child-friendly environment.
