On 29th/30th September I, and a trusty band from Invesco, will be attempting to climb 24 peaks in the Lake District... all over 2400 feet.... within a period of 24 hours...

...And i'm planning to do so carrying a pink rucksack.

Those who know me will know that this is actually my idea of fun. However, there is also another (and greater) reason for doing this; to raise money for The Mitchemp Trust. The Mitchemp Trust is a youth development charity working with vulnerable children who are between the ages of 11 and 14 years. They aim to improve their confidence, self esteem and ability to take responsibility for themselves. The Mitchemp Trust accomplish this by providing adventure camps, involving exciting outdoor activities that enable the children to succeed and achieve. They learn to go beyond their own limited expectations and become more confident in their approach to new challenges. They are given opportunities to make their own decisions and to demonstrate their growing self reliance. The Trust works with schools, social services and voluntary groups to identify those children who will benefit most from this unique opportunity on offer to develop themselves and make a lasting improvement to their lives.
