Story
After over 2,000 miles of training during the last 6 months, I’m cycling unaided from Kirkwall in Orkney to Land’s End in Cornwall, covering 1,100 miles in 11 days.
I’m pedalling across Great Britain to rediscover countries that seem to have changed a lot in the last few years. But I’m also taking on a challenge in memory of my friend and colleague Becky, who was no stranger to challenges herself. Becky was tragically killed in Beirut in December 2017, and the Foundation set up in her name continues her valuable humanitarian work overseas, by delivering projects in Lebanon to support refugees and other vulnerable communities. Becky’s selfless vision of a kinder and safer world lives on through the Foundation, and I’m very happy to cycle a really long way up loads of hills in support of this.
I'm incredibly grateful for any donation, as well as for your support for the ride. In particular, thanks to corporate sponsors Château Qanafar, White Horse Developments (Sandbach) Ltd, Ultimate Tinting (Cheshire), Ginger Graphics and Artichoke: Architectural Consultancy.
Donations are made to the Princes Exchange Foundation because they handle the funds disbursed by the Rebecca Dykes Foundation, which is run on a purely voluntary basis so every penny donated goes to supporting projects and beneficiaries www.rebeccadykesfoundation.com
