Story

Thank you for visiting our fundraising page.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to donate: St Benedict's Hospice, Sunderland gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

Everyone who knew Ernie knew just what a generous, caring family man he was. His life was filled with great memories sharing his many life experiences with his loved ones. Not only was he concerned for those closest to him but those who had had some bearing upon his life.

"A stranger is just a friend you don't know"

One of his final wishes was, rather than flowers, to give to those who had cared for him in his latter part of life, the care received from St Benedict's Hospice was unquestionable. We could not have asked for better care for him but also the support to our family was greatly appreciated, helping us through the most difficult times.

Our tributes will help others receive this level of care and dignity as Ernie did. No matter what size donation every penny will help towards St. Benedict's continuing and expanding the exceptional services that they provide. We know he will be proud that his wishes are being granted.

We all love and miss Ernie so much, but would like to celebrate every special moment we shared with him.

Please help St Benedict to raise £400,000 to extend their Hospice at Home Service reaching others whom are in need of this care.

Thank you for your support.
