Thank you for visiting my fundraising page...
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Institute of Obstetrics and Gynaecology Trust gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
I am asking for your support for a major challenge I am undertaking to raise funds to improve the health of women and babies worldwide. In October we will join Professor Robert Winston for Cycle China, the 10th women-only challenge to fund groundbreaking medical research work at the Wolfson and Weston Research Centre for Family Health in London. I will be cycling 450km in Beijing province and I need to raise a minimum of £3,300 (a mid life crisis, I hear you say ha ha!?)
I will be among a group of about 80 women (all raising £3300, think how many lives that will touch!?) who will cycle for five days through areas of that few westerners get to see.
We are all aware that our challenge will be a tough one requiring a great deal of commitment and training. However I am a committed midwife willing to donate time, energy and annual leave in our plight to improve the health of women and babies worldwide.
Women for Women raise funds to improve prevention, diagnosis and treatment of a range of devastating conditions which cause genetic diseases, miscarriage, infertility, cancer and brain damage. The fundamental aim is to improve women’s health and to ensure that more women have a normal pregnancy with a healthy baby. With up to 250 babies dying every week from complications during pregnancy their work has never been so essential for women and babies worldwide.
Yes...nearly there now, what a good feeling! Such a large amount of money to raise, it feels like a weight has been taken off my shoulders. I can start getting on my bike now ha ha!?
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all those people who have sponsored me.
Kind regards,
Eve Brady
