Story

Well, I can't believe that I've finally completed the challenge I set myself 9 months ago. Whilst this was the most physically, emotional and mentally challenging thing I've ever taken on, it's absolutely nothing compared to those suffering from Motor Neurone Disease.

What's more amazing has been the support, kindness, generosity and encouragement by all of you and I can't even begin to say how overwhelming this whole experience has been for us all as a family. The amount of money raised is beyond my wildest dreams and will make a tremendous difference to helping the MND Association. They are closer to finding a cure than ever before and I hope and pray this will be realised soon.

Thank you all so much!

WOW - What can I  say - when I first started fundraising I was apprehensive about reaching my £3000 target BUT in just 10 weeks, you have helped me not just reach this but smash right through it! I am absolutely overwhelmed and so appreciative of all the support and encouragement I have received - Thank you! I am still continuing to fund raise so that the MND association can get as much money as possible. Thanks again to everyone for their support.

Thanks so much for taking time to visit my fundraising page.

My mother-in-law was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease in November 2008 but sadly passed away at the beginning of October. This is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects the nerves in the brain and spinal cord which passes messages to the muscles telling them what to do.

There is currently no cure for Motor Neurone Disease and only one drug available which only in some cases slows down the progress very slightly.

In an effort to raise awareness of MND and more importantly to raise funds for further research into how to stop, slow down or prevent Motor Neurone Disease, I have decided to trek the Inca trail to Machu Picchu.

As well as sponsoring me - look out for my fund raising activities over the next few months and come and join in the fun.

I am really excited but nervous about the challenge and hope this will not only raise awareness of Motor Neurone Disease but bring in lots of money for research.

So please sponsor me now! I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks
