Story

On 15th March, Mylo the Meerkat will be running the 'FlaminGO! 10k Run' at Flamingo Land (North Yorkshire, UK). This will be his first ever appearance in a run, so please sponsor him! All money raised will go to the Udzungwa Forest Project, a Flamingo Land conservation project based in the tropical forests of Tanzania (East Africa), working in collaboration with CIRCLE, a University of York centre for research into conservation, education and animal welfare (www.circle-conservation.org).

Inside the Mylo suit will be Dr. Andy Marshall, taking a break from his day job of running the conservation, education and research programs at Flamingo Land, and  lecturing at the University of York. The suit is furry, weighs 5kg, and has no ventilation, so this will be quite a feat!

The FlaminGO run has already raised £4,200, so if Mylo reach his target of £2,000 then we should be able to reach a whopping £6,200!

Thanks so much to ABI Caravans who have already donated £2,000, and to Jewsons who have provided fencing for the event free of charge. Also thanks to all other local businesses who have pitched in and will get a mention on the day, and to everyone who has entered the run. It is not too late to enter the run - just search for FlaminGO 10k here: http://www.runbritain.com/.
