Story

Foodworks uses the synergy of donated food, volunteer time and an idle kitchen space to create positive social change in the community.

The idea is simple.  Food retailers throw out millions of tons of edible food every year due to supply overstock.  The aim of Foodworks is to redirect this food so it can be used to cook nutritious meals for people in the local community that do not have access to it for a variety of reasons, such as lack of income, access or knowledge of healthy nutrition. The result?  Peopleʼs health benefit from better food, food waste is reduced, and volunteers get the satisfaction that they have helped improve their local community!

Your donation will help us get our program started in more areas and allow us to reach to out more people in the community that are in need of healthy and nutritious food!

About the charity
