Story
Two years ago my mummy lost her courageous battle with terminal cancer having put up the most almighty fight for two and half years. She was an inspiration throughout always with a smile on her face and a champagne glass in her hand.
Throughout her illness we were inundated with cards, letters and support from friends and family which provided mummy with the boosts that she needed to battle on through everything that was thrown at her. For this reason I hold this charity 'From Me To you' very close to my heart, the work they do sending letters to those fighting cancer some with the support systems like my mummy had, but also to those without anybody holding their hand and supporting them on the treacherous journey that cancer throws at them. From Me To You aims to keep people up beat, positive and connected when they feel most disconnected.
From Me to You also run our 'Donate A Letter' campaign, sending anonymous letters to cancer patients in hospitals across the UK. Social isolation is often felt by cancer patients and something as simple as a letter can alleviate this.£5 buys a book of stamps£10 buys a letter-writing kit posted out to anyone requesting one£15 buys a place for someone to attend one of our workshops across the UK.
With the above in mind I will be running this half marathon on the 10th of February, which I am sure mummy will be watching down upon as I attempt to do this! Please donate whether it is big or small to this fantastic charity whom really do brighten a cancer patients day with their letters.
