Story
At the beginning of the lockdown brought about by Coronavirus, I purchased an exercise bike. Obviously the restrictions on movement have meant I've had more time than normal to get some miles into my legs, and I've so far biked several hundred miles... and without the risk of endangering the general public with my attempts at cycling outdoors!
Last Sunday I cycled 52.4 miles (the equivalent of two marathons), and having survived that I have decided to take up a potentially tougher task.
I don't particularly want to attempt to emulate The Proclaimers by walking 500 miles and then walking 500 more, but I am willing to try to cycle 500 miles and then cycle 500 more...
I have therefore set myself the challenging target of cycling 1,000 miles (1,609.34Km) on the exercise bike in May and raise funds for various charities that are important to me, all of whom are in need of funds at this difficult time. This will mean cycling an average 32.25 miles (51.9Km) per day for a whole month.
I will be providing daily updates of distance travelled (as well as time spent and calories burned), and pictorial evidence from time to time.
