Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
On the 2nd April the four of us (myself (Mike), Scott, Phil and Aaron) will be aiming to walk 100 miles along the Southdowns Way in order to raise money for a charity that is close to our hearts.
We wanted to challenge ourselves by doing this and thought why not do it for charity and do some good also!
In addition to this we really wanted to do this in order to help improve our own mental health and wellbeing during this pandemic. We are all generally into fitness & health and feel we need to give ourselves some focus and motivation during this pandemic. We hope this can inspire others do to the same :)
With regards to the charity, we all have a strong love for dogs in general but have a connection to this particular shelter specifically.
I adopted my dog Rollie from the Stubbington Ark dog rescue over 10 years ago and ever since he has been the joy of not only my life, but of everyone else's that has known him.
When adopting Rollie we were extremely impressed by the work that the shelter does and also the helpfulness and friendliness of all staff/volunteers. It was similarly evident that they had clearly put the work in to really develop dogs and give them the best chance at adoption and a happy life. This really is a great charity that is doing a lot of good work for dogs that need it.
We hope you can all help us raise some money for a shelter that perhaps may not be the first thought of people when doing fundraising events and allow them to continue to do what they do so well.
