In October 2016 I was diagnosed with Stage 2 Lung Cancer. Following surgery on the 6th Of December in which I had the upper lobe in my right lung removed and thankfully the surgery has been successful and no chemotherapy has been required. Although I am physically cancer free, mentally on a day by day basis I have lived with the fear of the cancer returning. CancerCare has been so supportive in helping me with this side of my recovery. Holistically and from a psychological perspective they have given me counselling. They have also put me in touch with the support group 'Windbags' which is where I have met people who are dealing with all stages of lung cancer and also some who like me are now, fingers crossed, cancer free.

This 30K walk from Carnforth to Glasson Dock on Saturday 2nd Septemebr is a way for me to give back to this amazing charity and I couldn't think of a better person to support me on this walk than my best buddy Cathy.

My husband Carl has been a massive support to me for which I will always be grateful, now get your cheque book out!! :)

Thank you all for supporting me in my challenge and hopefully we can raise £1000 for CancerCare that will help those going through similar experiences.
