In 2013 I ran the marathon to raise funds for Brighton charity Carousel. At the time, I said“never again” but now I am in training for this years Brighton Marathon which will take place on 17th April 2016.
WHY?
In November of last year I lost a dear friend and mentor to cancer.
Luni and his family adopted me and my girlfriend Amie when we spent a year working in New Zealand. He was a through- and –through rugby man. Loved and respected by everyone. The kind of man everyone wants to be.
Shocked and incredibly sad, I decided that I wanted to DO something as a mark of how much Luni meant to me...hence I have decided to run the marathon again and raise money to support bowel cancer research in the UK and for the trust that has been set up in Luni’s name to support young players to buy rugby boots and equipment, pay club subs etc.
I ran the marathon in exactly 4 hours 6 seconds in 2013 which was my target time and was pretty brilliant for a rugby boy! I want to beat this time and I am determined to make as much money as possible.
Please support me if you can. There really is no need to make a large donation, I am aiming to spread the word about this as widely as possible so every pound will help!
Many, many thanks everyone!
