Hi and a Big thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. Any donation will be greatly received and help scope to give Rory and many others with cerebral palsy the opportunities that most of us take for granted.

 

I am taking part in Ironman UK 2011 on the 31st July this year. The event is held in and around Bolton. It starts at 06.00 hrs with a 2.4 mile swim in Pennington Flash (a fresh water lake), then onto a 112 mile hilly bike route and finally finishes with a 26.2 mile run.

 

I have no doubt this gruelling event and the extensive training will test me physically and mentally, but unlike the many individuals with cerebral palsy I choose this battle. I regard myself extremely lucky and priviledged to be blessed with the physical strength and mental toughness needed to take on such a challenge. I am so pleased that I have this opportunity to raise money for others less fortunate. I would ask you to join me by making whatever donation you can. 

 

 Rory pictured above is the son of a good friend of mine, Big Stuart MacDonald. He is my inspiration for taking on this challenge. When I am “wobbling” I will get strength from the knowledge that I am doing it for such a wonderful person who brings so much Joy to his parents, family and friends.
