Story

I am not a runner by any means. The only running I've ever done in my life is for the bus and with disastrous consequences. However, when my sister told me she wanted to run the London Landmark's to raise money for Addison's disease, I knew this was something I simply couldn't let her do.

Addison's disease is a rare and potentially fatal disease where the adrenal glands cease to function. A couple of years ago we had the startling reality of how potentially fatal this disease can be when we nearly lost my sister when she went into adrenal crisis.

Inspired by her determination to raise awareness for this charity despite her ongoing health concerns, my brother-in-law and I have decided to take on this challenge in her honour. We have been training since the start of the year and running through every type of weather. We have struggled through injury and motivation, but are on track to run/skip/walk or even drag ourselves across the finish line. Please dig deep and donate to this wonderful cause and support us on our couch to half marathon journey.

Every penny raised helps us support people affected by Addison's Disease, a rare disease with just 9,000 sufferers in UK and Ireland.

About the charity

Founded in 1984, we're the UK and Ireland charity for all affected by Addison's disease and adrenal insufficiency. We work to support and promote better medical understanding of this rare, life-threatening condition. All donations go to our 'unrestricted' funds, to help us in this vital work.
