Hello everyone, with a heavy heart, we just want to say a massive, sincere, thank you for taking your time to look at Alan's story.

Alan Gribben was a much loved Paramedic and a Hero to the people that he had saved and the lives that he touched with his incredible work. He had a 100% attendance record over his 9 year career and was highly respected and honoured by his Family, Friends, Patients and Colleagues.

At 1200 hours on the 15th December 2016 we found the devastating news that our Father, Son, Brother, Uncle and Partner lost his battle to mental illness and sadly took his own life.

• Over 6000 people commit suicide each year in the UK
• Men are 4 times more likely to commit suicide than women
• Men are renowned for being introverted about their feelings
• Those at highest risk are men aged between 45-59 years old
  
• Statistics show that suicide rates have increased dramatically year on year
  

'Every year, 1 in 4 of us will experience a mental health problem' -Mind.

Alan saved so many lives throughout his career but sadly couldn't save his own.

The mission is to prevent anyone from feeling the pain that Alan and his family went through on this tragic day. If we can save just 1 person and their family our mission is complete.

Mind is a charity that provides advice and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem. They campaign to improve services, raise awareness and promote understanding and they won't give up until everyone experiencing a mental health problem gets Support and Respect.

We believe no-one should have to face a mental health problem alone.
