Story
How would you feel if you were told you had an incurable condition, that you were going to lose the strength and feeling in your hands and feet and that you might end up in a wheel chair? We have both been diagnosed with Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease (CMT) and have been told this.
CMT is a condition that damages the nerves in our legs and arms, known as the peripheral nerves. It slowly gets worse over time and is causing the muscles in our feet, lower legs, hands and forearms to waste, which causes problems for us walking, difficulties with our hand function, balance problems and loss of some normal reflexes. At present, there is no cure for CMT.
We know that the Junior Para Triathlon on 14th September, being organised by Arctic One, will be a huge challenge for us but we overcome many challenges in our lives and we are determined to smash this one!
Please, please support us and help us raise money for Muscular Dystrophy UK who fund research into finding treatment and a cure for CMT.
Thank you...William and Thomas
