Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I've choosen to raise money for "Epilepsy Scotland" because my little brother Graham had epilepsy from 6 months old until it finally took his life at the tender age of 22 in 1994.

It was 1972 that as a 4 year old I experienced seeing my brother have an "epileptic fit" for the first time. I personally thought at the time it was great because I got to ride in the back of an ambulance with it's siren blaring and a police escort all the way into the "Sick Kids Hospital" in Edinburgh.

Little did I think that this would be the first of at least 40 journeys we would make in the back of an ambulance over the years or how much it would affect his life.

This culminated in him having to take 9 tablets a day, every day for over 20 years to stabilise his epilepsy. He faced lots of adversity throughout his short life, however, he never ever complained or let it get him down and always had a smile on his face.

Graham was my annoying little brother who I fought with, laughed with and cried with.

I miss him still and never really got the chance to tell him I loved him and was very proud to have him as my brother.

Sunday 17th June 2012 ( the day of the 10k for men) will be the 18th anniversary of his passing and I couldn't think of a better way to remember him than raising money for Epilepsy Scotland.

Over 60,000 kids and their families in the UK are affected daily by epilepsy and I would be very grateful for any donation you could make to help.

Thank you.
