We work in local communitites across the UK to protect & support the young & vulnerable

Story

Last Christmas, we raised an incredible £420 for Action for children- a UK based charity that supports the emergency needs of children, young adults and carers.

This December, I am running another donation based event at Yoga Hero - this time alongside Sophie Hutchinson who will be bringing Yoga Nidra to the event. Together, we are hoping to raise as much awareness and money  as we can for Action for children.

This will be an evening of joining together to gather, focus, send thoughts, be still, meditate, move through yoga, drop into Nidra and be an action for change. This is a free class, with every single penny of donation going straight to the charity. There will be tea, cake, and time for conversation too.

Just as much as this project is about raising money, it is also about raising awareness. Neglected, abused and vulnerable children are living right here, right now in the U.K, and I want to set out to stop this.

Action for children run 650 projects and services based around the UK and works with over 300,000 children, young people, and their families. It helps and supports people in areas as diverse as disability respite therapy, foster care, adoption and child neglect.

Every single child deserves love, support and opportunity - and this is something that we all can give.

Last year, with my target of £300, we rasied an incredible £420. This year I would like to set out to raise £450. If just 30 people came, paid for a typical class, bought a slice of cake and a warming tea- we could raise enough money to keep 84 young children off the street for one night.

Where does your money go?

£3 a month could pay for children to have a healthy nutritious dinner.

£5 a month could pay for emergency overnight support for a young person living on the street.

£10 a month could provide a one-to-one play session for a child who has been abused.

I want to donate, but am unable to make the class.

Don’t worry! There are other ways to be a part of this project.

  • Get baking!
For an evening including tea and cake, I’m going to need lots of cake. Every penny donated for your baked goods will go straight to the charity.

  • Donate tea.
(An essential component for a slice of cake.)

  • Donate on my just giving page.

I want to join, but have no yoga experience. Can I come?

Yes! This will be an open level class. All welcome.
