Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
My brother Mark was sadly stabbed to death by someone known to him in December 2018. In his memory, our mother Alison and a group of her close friends is working with a team of dedicated people in Hereford to bring the Knife Angel statue to Hereford. The Knife Angel was created by Alfie Bradley and the British Ironworks Centre using knives returned during an amnesty. It is also known as the National Monument against Violence and Aggression. Having the Knife Angel in Hereford, based at the Cathedral for the month of June 2021, will allow local groups and residents to see this amazing statue, but also to participate in workshops and educational events around prevention of knife crime in our society.
Bringing the Knife Angel to Hereford and encouraging a dialogue among young people and communities around violence and knife crime in particular may help save a life in the future. The team is obtaining support from sources such as the police and the local council, but to take advantage of having the Angel in Hereford and hosting events relating to it additional funding is needed. This is a great way for us to have something positive out of Mark's senseless death so we really appreciate your support.
