Hey guys! If you would be so kind to sponsor us we would be very grateful!
So towards the end of last year I had the bright idea that I would like to do a 10k and Andrew being Andrew decided to take on the responsibility (and trust me, it was a responsibility) to get me to be able to do it (without me passing out). At first I thought I would never be able to it because I could hardly run the length of myself (ask my mum 'Rachael doesn't run' comes to mind) but now I think I will be able to manage it. I'm not going for some record breaking time, just finishing is my goal!
The charity we are raising money for is very important and close to us - especially to Andrew. Andrew's Mum has Huntington's Disease and at the end of last year we found out that Andrew was positive for the Huntington gene. Huntington's Disease affects people both physically and mentally, and having the gene means that at some point in his life he will develop the disease. One of the ways to delay the effects of HD is to lead a healthy lifestyle so what a perfect way to start by doing a 10k (Rachael).
Getting my result has been really hard news to deal with but I am taking a positive approach by doing all I can to delay the symptoms - such as running 10k's! I hope that by fundraising for the SHA we can help them to continue supporting patients and their families deal with this horrible illness. I also have to say a huge thank you to Rachael who has been truely amazing throughout everything I've had to deal with over the last year. I couldn't have done it without her! We both greatly appreciate anything you can donate and we will try to do everyone proud on the day of the run (Andrew).
Thanks everybody!
