UPDATE: On the day it was touch and go as to whether we could go or not, however with wind speeds of up to 28MPH and a force 4 it was decided - YES SWIM TO BESTIVAL - Ben and I did it in around 2 hours 15 minutes. It was more the sense of satisfaction finishing than the time. It was difficult to get into a rhythm with the size of waves and the kayakers did a great job of keeping going and an eye out for the shipping. However I had a great time and would like to thank all the kind people who have given so generously on this site to Macmillan Cancer Support. For the next challenge watch this space......

On Thursday 8th September 2011 I am going to swim with ten others from Stokes Bay (Nr Portsmouth) to Bestival on the Isle of Wight (Ryde) for Macmillan Cancer Support. I know from personal experience they do a great job and MCS is an excellent cause. 

 

The swim is four miles across, its deep, with waves, tides, big ships and other scary stuff. If no one sponsors me I might bottle it, so please get sponsoring!
