Story

 *****NEWS FLASH*****

SUNDAY 31st JULY @2pm - FINAL FLOURISH

I attempted to run 168km last month however I got a knee injury at 64km and had to bow out via A&E at 149km. This was just past Spelga Dam.

My friends and I are going to complete the challenge together and run 19km from Spelga Dam around Hen Mountain, over Rocky Mountain before descending into Kilbroney park to finish.

It has been a fun and exciting challenge and this group is looking forward to honouring the pledge to raise funds and awareness for survivors of Human Trafficking!!

Get behind the group as this will be a monumental challenge for us to compete together. We hope to arrive to family and friends, sponsors and above all members of the Flourish Team to enjoy a bbq and some fun together!

Once again thank you!!

Andrew

On the 10th June – 11th June I will be taking on the Ultra Trail 168km challenge (Quadruple Marathon) in the Mournes, argued to be one of the toughest foot races in Ireland.

I will be starting at 1pm on the 10th June with 31 hours to complete this challenge, this means running from day into night before finishing by 8pm on the 11th June.

I am taking on this crazy challenge to raise essential funds for the important work of Flourish in supporting survivors of human trafficking. Within Northern Ireland and on their journey here people are being forced into exploitation such as sexual exploitation and forced labour being held in horrendous conditions and forced to do the unimaginable.

I have been undergoing intense training since January for this near impossible challenge but this doesn’t compare to the trauma experienced by a trafficking survivor – I get to choose my route, my clothing, my food and ultimately if I take part. These choices are mine, however for a victim of human trafficking this is not the case.

Any donations towards the vital support for survivors of human trafficking provided by Flourish would be greatly appreciated and will make an impact!
