London Marathon 2021 · 3 October 2021 ·

Welcome to the London Marathon 2021 page for #TeamPCR! This year promises to be our biggest and best so far, with all our fundraising providing a better future for men and their families affected by prostate cancer.

Story

Thank you for visiting my JustGiving page! I am doing this fund raising in Memory of Roy Scarlett, my father who was taken from us in Oct 2009. He battled hard against the cancer but ultimately it got the better of him.

He loved the outdoors and the picture above is of me resting on a training run, on his memorial bench on one of his favorite walks along the Marriott's Way near his home in Norfolk.

As well as the London Marathon in October, to make the challenge year a little bit harder I am doing another Marathon in the build up to London. It is the Marriott's way trail marathon in June which goes past dad's seat and I am doing that run with my running buddy Justin.

To give you maximum suffering value for any donation, I am also doing a virtual Route 66 challenge this year, running the 2278 miles between Chicago and Los Angeles virtually, I am currently almost 800 miles into this challenge so just about on target to complete it this year.

Prostate Cancer Research are dedicated to creating brand new prostate cancer treatments. Prostate cancer is now the most diagnosed cancer in the UK and 11,500 men die from the disease every year. People affected by prostate cancer need breakthrough treatments, and research is the only way to turn this hope into reality. Their vision is clear; a world where people are free from the impact of prostate cancer. I’m part of #TeamPCR because I share this vision. Will you help me support their research?
