We train amazing hearing dogs to transform the lives of deaf people

Story

Welcome to my Just Giving fundraising page! I am running the 2022 Bournemouth Half Marathon to raise money for Hearing Dogs for Deaf People. They are a fantastic charity and I would be so grateful if you could take the time to sponsor me to help the cause and motivate me in my training!

Hearing Dogs train canine companions for people who are hard of hearing or profoundly deaf, giving them independence as well as emotional support. Deafness can be isolating and a hearing dog is a wonderful ice breaker as well as a constant friend. They can also save lives, helping to alert their owners to sounds such as smoke alarms as well as more day-to-day noises like the doorbell or an alarm.

About the charity

Hearing Dogs for Deaf People trains dogs to alert deaf people to important and life-saving sounds such as the smoke alarm, alarm clock, intruder alarms and baby monitors. These amazing dogs also help deaf people to leave loneliness behind by providing love, companionship and emotional support.
