Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Before I begin, this trip to Peru and Machu Picchu is totally self funded and every single penny raised through this page will go to the British Heart Foundation, in the name of Steven Wilkinson.
Last year, my friend Steve (Bobber) died of systemic heart disease at the ripe old age of 41...yes 41. Apart from the chubby cheeks he had no warning signs, he just didn't wake up one morning.
A friend asked me if I fancied walking up Everest, which I though was a bit strange but I said OK and then found out he meant the mountain not the window shop! I said that's not really my bag. What about Machu Picchu, he asked? I had read about this city at the top of a mountain and jumped at the chance to experience the route the Inca's took but without having to carry the materials to build the place when we got there. It's not the hardest of treks but it's at altitude and there are no pubs so it's out of my comfort zone.
So my next thought was to put the two together and raise some money to help support the work of the BHF whilst I am doing this. So if you can spare a few quid it would be much appreciated and I thank you in anticipation of your generosity.........as will anybody who's life is saved by the work BHF do.
Cheers
Andy
