I’ve completed several half marathons before and felt it was time to step up to the full distance. I entered the Paris Marathon and then just a week later found out that my speculative ballot entry for the London Marathon had been successful. As a result I’m now completing two marathons in 7 days: the Paris Marathon on 15th April and the London Marathon on 22nd April.

I have chosen to support the charity Five of Hearts. The Five of Hearts is a local fundraising consortium of 5 Birmingham-based charities:

1. Acorns Childrens Hospice (provides care services to vulnerable children and young people)
2. Birmingham Childrens Hospital
3. Focus Birmingham (supporting people with visual impairments and other disabilities)
4. Birmingham Community Foundation (supporting disadvantaged members of local communities)
5. St Basils (helping to prevent youth homelessness)

Every donation made is shared evenly between these five charities to assist them to improve the quality of life of over 400,000 beneficiaries.
