Hello

I've set myself a few tough goals this year but this one is the most worthy.  Most of you know our story.  For those of you who aren't familiar with it, please read on.

Ian and I have two wonderful sons, Travis and Connor. However, we were also blessed with another son, Matthew.

Matthew was born extremely premature and had Quadriplegic Cerebral Palsy along with many other problems.  Life wasn't all bad - he smiled and giggled a lot! Our beautiful boy was 7 when he passed away in 2000.

The Butterwick Hospice never waivered in their love, support and guidance - even after we lost our son.  They cared for the whole family, not just Matthew.

Whilst Matthew was being spoiled rotten at the hospice, Travis and Connor experienced 'normality'. This is so important and could only happen because Matthew was in safe hands, experiencing treats and care that only a hospice can deliver.

Ian and I have never forgotten what the Butterwick gave our family.  Ian and Travis have previously ran The Great North Run and raised money for Help the Hospices.  This time it's my turn to run with Ian and raise money solely for the Butterwick who rely so much on charitable donations.

We've been training for some time now but it's not easy as we're not getting any younger! Please give what you can for this amazing place and help us remember Matthew and help more families like ours.  Thanks.
