Travelled Music
Returning to the legendary Barrels basement after what seems an eternity, Travelled Music are delighted to host an evening of music in honour of the late Moonlit Sailor drummer, Adam Törnblad.
Swedish post-rock outfit Moonlit Sailor (Deep Elm Records) performed twice at The Barrels Alehouse and built a strong, mutual affection with the venue, people, and town of Berwick-upon-Tweed, even naming the final track of their 2011 album ‘Colours in Stereo’ after our home town. Adam went on to form U137 with fellow Moonlit Sailor member Oscar Gullbrandsen and released their debut album in 2013, again through Deep Elm Records, before returning to the four-piece to release their fourth and final album ‘We Came From Exploding Stars’ in 2014
Tragically, Adam passed away in May 2017 aged just 27.
We’ve brought together the two bands who played with Moonlit Sailor on their visits to Berwick, with Paul Sinclair & Matt Carroll recreating the epic, prog-tinged tracks of Ambience Brother, and the Warehouse Announcement lads stripping back their fist-pumping RAWK, to reveal their hidden inner beauty.
Throughout the night we’ll be playing selected tracks from Moonlit Sailor and U137, including the aforementioned’s recently released beautiful homage, ‘Adam Forever’.
The band have requested that any money raised be donated to Mind, a charity dedicated to helping those with mental health issues. Please give generously.
