Story
As you may or may not be aware, last year I lost the greatest grandma in the world following a long fight with Ovarian Cancer. Towards the end of her illness Grandma was taken into St Gemma’s Hospice, where she was looked after and made comfortable. The staff and facilities were superb, and they made what was an extremely difficult time much more bearable and dignified.
St. Gemma’s is very expensive to run - costing over £20,000.00 a day - and as such they are always looking for different and fun ways to raise money. Last year I took part in the fist ever Santa Dash that they organised, and my grandma, although very poorly, pushed me around the course in my pushchair. At that time I was only 8 months old and couldn't walk, but now I can and his year in memory of grandma I am going to walk the entire mile with my mum, dad, uncle's, aunties and Grandad. This will be the first time I have ever walked a mile, and I'm sure grandma will be as proud as punch watching down on me doing it.
If everyone who reads this gives just a few pounds then we'll make a lot of money for an extremely good cause. Having needed the help of St. Gemma’s, me and my family know the difference they make to terminally ill people and their loved ones, and how important it is that we help to keep them going strong so they can continue to help others for years to come. So please dig deep......
