Story
I think I must be mad - a place in the London Marathon!! Please help make the early mornings, the interval training and the (very) long runs worth it by making a donation to the Tuberous Sclerosis Association. Our family marathon challenge has begun - Esme thinks I am mad and has decided that she 'doesn't really fancy running', Steve is fitting his timetable around my long runs so he can be at home with her, I am slavishly following my running plan and testing lots of different sweets to find my marathon day perfect sugar boost (there has to be some benefit!). Jacob is away but I have replaced him with a new running partner - Jack a cocker spaniel who thinks running for an hour is just a warm up for the day ahead.
Esme was diagnosed with TSC at 4 months old and she is about to turn 18. The TSA has been a support for us for the past 18 years and without it we would have been lost. We have been supported by teachers, nurses, doctors, carers, family and friends over the last 18 years but behind it all has been the TSA and the hope that it brings for a cure. TSC can mean autism, learning disabilities, tumours in the brain/kidneys/lungs/heart, behaviour that challenges. It means hospital appointments, tests, drugs, funding discussions and educational challenges. Through it all the small but far reaching TSA provides invaluable information and support.
Any donation no matter how small will be used to support families at every stage from first diagnosis. It will be used to fund research and to provide help today and a cure tomorrow. The TSA is the only UK charity dedicated to supporting people affected by Tuberous Sclerosis Complex (TSC). It makes a positive impact on the health and wellbeing of people living with TSC and their families and carers and leads research into tools, technologies and treatments which eliminate or reduce the effects of TSC.
Please make a donation if you can - any amount will be very much appreciated.
