We fight blood cancer in northern England to give new hope to blood cancer patients

Story

On Saturday 28th October 2017, Simon, Alice and Harriet invite you to join them on a sponsored walk to celebrate the life of Anne Johnston on what would have been her 65th birthday.

Four years ago, Mum was diagnosed with CMML, a rare type of blood cancer and in June 17, she sadly passed away. From that first day, Mum was determined that her illness would be used in a way to help others now and in the future. It was one of the last conversations we had together - that she wished she could help other families in similar circumstances.

We’ll be walking one of Mum’s favourite walks through Newcastle, finishing with a birthday tea party from 5pm at 6 Westfield Avenue. The walk will begin at home at 2pm, with the route across the town moor, and back through Jesmond.  It'll be approx. 6 miles - Please join us for the walk and/or for the afternoon tea.

This will be in aid of Bright Red, a local blood cancer charity. Bright Red aims to improve the lives and treatment of people with blood cancer across the north of England. Through care, research and education we are striving to beat illnesses such as leukaemia, lymphoma, myeloma myelodysplasia and myeloproliferative diseases.

If you wish to join us on the day, we kindly ask that you donate £5 to this cause - and if you can't join, please consider popping us some spare change. We really hope that the money raised will serve Mum's memory and her wish to help others. Please do join us - for more details, contact, Alice on 07845614238 or Harriet 07738588981.
