Story
We are both fundraising for Sense, a charity that believes that no one, no matter how complex their disabilities, should be isolated, left out, or unable to fulfil their potential.Their experts offer personalised support through their centres, holidays and short breaks, or in people’s own homes. They are here for everyone who needs them, for as long as they need them – providing early intervention for children, helping young people access education, and supporting the transition into adulthood and beyond.
Having both worked as Support Workers for the team based in Cornwall, we have seen the wonderful benefits for those supported and the benefit to their families.
We can easily take for granted getting out there and making the most of our free time but for some they need a little more support. The money raised goes towards enabling people the support to get out, have adventures, socialise, take part in physical activities, have fun, improve life skills and build confidence and independence.
We are fundraising for Sense, a national charity that supports people
with complex communication needs, including those who are deafblind, to be understood, connected and valued. They are there for every person who faces communication barriers in a world that relies on being able to
see and hear well to be connected. Together, we can unlock barriers to
communication so no one is isolated, left out or unable to fulfil their
potential.
