As you may know cancer is the cause of a quarter of all deaths in the UK, and around 40 percent of us will develop some form of cancer in our lives.

The four of us have bravely (foolishly?) committed to taking part in the Great Escape Challenge this coming May in the Brecon Beacons. Its all in aid of raising valuable funds for Marie Curie Cancer Care, providing free nursing care for terminally ill people in their homes.  So what is the Great Escape Challenge all about? Well, its a mixture of body and mind challenges, a one-day event comprising a 40K cycle, a 10k run as well as a 5k kayak! Not only will we be expected to complete these gruelling tests in record time, we will also be expected to take on mind challenges of the highest order. Needless to say we have all been taking up gym memberships, boxercise/BMF classes, triathlon style training in a bid to confront this Challenge head on. What we ask of you is that you give generously to this fabulous cause. Just £20 will pay for an hour's nursing care, providing free care to terminally ill people in the place they most want to die, their own home.
