This is a charity very close to my heart. Many of us know of someone who has suffered from cancer, some of which are fortunate enough to come through and others who don't. My grandma (Brenda Cook) was a big role model and inspiration to me and she had cancer until recently when she passed away, her journey was very difficult, she plodded on in the british way:

'Keep Calm and Carry on'

She rarely let her family know what pain she was going through and kept smiling, much of this was thanks to her trips into the Butterwick Hospice, where she could treat herself with a massage or just sit and chat to someone also in the same boat as her.

She loved her time there, the Butterwick Hospice can only help those like my grandma through sponsorship as they receive no funding. 

I am therefore running the Great North Run through Newcastle, not far from where my grandma lived in her memory for the Butterwick Hospice. Please dig deep and donate now.
