We fund long-term, sustainable research to find a cure for brain tumours

Story

Brain tumours are indiscriminate; they can affect anyone at any age.  Whats more, they kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer...yet historically just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this devastating disease.

Glenn McMahon. was diagnosed with an aggressive glioblastoma multiforme stage 4 (GBM) brain tumour after experiencing co-ordination problems on the golf course. He married Wendy in February 2014 and, knowing their time together would be cut short, the couple set about making the most of their lives through travel, socialising and their mutual love of fine food. Glenn died in June 2015 at the age of 53.

Glenn’s sheer will and determination to battle this horrible disease with a continual smile on his face inspired many others to overcome tough obstacles in their own lives.

Since Glenn passed away, Wendy has campaigned tirelessly for Brain Tumour Research and set up the Glenn McMahon Foundation in his memory.  This falls under the umbrella of Brain Tumour Research and its in his name that Wendy and I and many others will take on 20 challenges for 2020 and hope that all funds raised will help find a cure.

Our 20 events will include, various running events, (some in the desert!) wing walking, swimming with sharks, zip wires, triathlons and many more.  We will start on 1st January 2020 with a new years day dip in the sea on the south coast ...eeeeeekkkkk !!  with the remainder of events dotted throughout the year, ending with a December party to celebrate our achievements.

During 2019 we will take on various smaller events as training for the big events next year and support and donations are a huge motivator to keep going so we would really appreciate your donations no matter how small.

I have started a blog which i will use to record our training journey and planning for next year. You can find this at:
